William “Bill” Pringle

November 5, 1932 - January 20, 2012

William F. Pringle age 79 of Mentor died Jan. 20, 2012 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland. Born Nov. 5, 1932 in Fairview, WV to Frank and Nyla (nee: Shriver) Pringle, he was a longtime Chardon area resident prior to moving to Mentor. He served with the US Army during the final days of the Korean War. Bill married Lucille (nee: Minton) on Sept. 22, 1956 in Worthington, WV. He worked as a Supervisor at TRW before retiring in 1983. Bill enjoyed restoring and working on cars. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Bill is survived by his wife Lucille (nee: Minton) Pringle of Chardon; daughters Linda Robey of Columbus, JoAnn Hrouda of Willoughby, Pam (Ken) Bevington of Mentor, and Terry (Milt) Boggs of Huntsburg; grandchildren Teala (Fred), Tara (Pete), Jamie (Ryan), Kenny, Stephanie, Christopher, Cooper, and Tucker; great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Caitlin, Madelyn, Caleb, and Olivia; and brother James Pringle of Bradenton, FL. Some of my best memories of my father were Sunday afternoons--him reading the Sunday comics to me --too young to read but loved listening to them. Him teaching me how to play checkers and never just letting me win. Early mornings before school, him sitting at the kitchen table explaining how to do a math problem that I got stuck on the evening before--and it was because he worked second shift that he made a point of helping me in the mornings. Going to church in the morning and later in the afternoon he would take us all out to the country for a drive ending the day with a treat to the only dairy twist in Chardon. Him teaching me how to ride a two wheeler bike was probably one of the funniest times. He gave the bike a push and told me to steer, but I was too nervous and just ran into a pine tree. He had my mom in later years to be the one to take me practice driving--still laugh about it.Once I moved out of the house, it never failed--- everytime I came home and had to head back to my new home; he had tears in his eyes as I would leave. For the one thing my father loved was having all his family around. Miss you dad though I know you are in heaven, I still miss you here. Thank you--- for all of your wisdom, guidance, and love.
