WILLIAM “BILL” O. SMITH, Age 84, of Middlefield, formerly of Chardon, died on Monday, November 23, 2015, at Briar Cliff Manor in Middlefield, OH. He was born on December 26, 1930, to Edwin H. and Anna (Nee: Laver) Smith in Greenville, PA. William married Lois in Wichita Falls, TX, on March 6, 1952. He served in the US Air Force for 22 ½ years, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. He had directed Air Force Bands and Choirs in Texas, Japan and Colorado Springs, CO.
Bill was an active member of the Chardon United Methodist Church in Chardon.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; daughter, Pam (Ric) White of Chardon; 2 grandchildren, Rick White of Pigeon Forge, TN and Nathan (Stacey) White of Huntsburg Twp., OH; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Sue Ann Love.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair, Cleveland, OH 44110 or the Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon, OH 44024.
