Timothy “Rookie” Allen Wiech, Sr., 42, of Hambden Township, passed away May 31, 2012, following a tragic accident at the job he was devoted to. Born Aug. 2, 1969, Mr. Wiech was a lifelong resident of Hambden Township. He adored his son and was a loving father. He loved life and loved to laugh. He was an avid KISS collector, prankster, and a friend of Bill W for 18 years. Rookie was also known as the ultimate bargain hunter. Rookie was employed by Nelson Tree Service for the past 17 years. Survivors are his son, Timmy, Jr.; fiance, Lori Gurkles; brothers, James (Pamela) of Chardon, Lyle (Lisa) of Ripley, N.Y., Ronald (Christy) of Middlefield; sister, Linda (Robert) Childs of Chardon; stepmother, Carol of Chardon; and stepbrothers, Tim and Rusty Moss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Carrie (Bell) Wiech; and grandparents, Oscar and Beatrice Wiech. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (State Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Pastor Chris McCreight of Pilgrim Christian Church will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
