Timothy “Rookie” Wiech

August 2, 1969 - May 31, 2012

Timothy “Rookie” Allen Wiech, Sr., 42, of Hambden Township, passed away May 31, 2012, following a tragic accident at the job he was devoted to. Born Aug. 2, 1969, Mr. Wiech was a lifelong resident of Hambden Township. He adored his son and was a loving father. He loved life and loved to laugh. He was an avid KISS collector, prankster, and a friend of Bill W for 18 years. Rookie was also known as the ultimate bargain hunter. Rookie was employed by Nelson Tree Service for the past 17 years. Survivors are his son, Timmy, Jr.; fiance, Lori Gurkles; brothers, James (Pamela) of Chardon, Lyle (Lisa) of Ripley, N.Y., Ronald (Christy) of Middlefield; sister, Linda (Robert) Childs of Chardon; stepmother, Carol of Chardon; and stepbrothers, Tim and Rusty Moss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Carrie (Bell) Wiech; and grandparents, Oscar and Beatrice Wiech. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (State Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Pastor Chris McCreight of Pilgrim Christian Church will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Timothy Allen Wiech, Jr. Trust at any Huntington Bank Branch.

Were going to miss you and your jokes and messages you would send us. We had lots of good times with you. We know how much you loved the hurricane and storm work. I remember going to wrestling matches with Mr. Tim and Timmy.When I stayed overnight at their house, Mr. Tim would always let us stay up late, watch wresting or a move and then Mr. Tim would make us pancakes the next morning.I'll miss him alot and the fun we were having together, espcially wrestling.

Tim will be missed by so many. He made light and fun of things that would not always be considered funny. However? The way Tim told it or repeated a story? Had anyone that knew him laughing hysterically. He was a good man. A true Father that loved/loves Timmy and adored Laurie. He did for others just because it made him happy to help. I remember him from 7th grade science class. What a character! He always spoke of the Kiss coffin- but he will be wecomed to Heaven with open arms for the kind of man he was- not for a specific coffin or ceremony. Only the good die young and Tim was a true good one! God Bless!

Dear Rookie, I will ALWAYS remember your joking humor whenever you came to my house after work. :) You had a way of letting everyone know who you were by honking your horn at 5:30 in the morning to pick my dad up for work, texting me information about the deals that were going on at walmart, letting me what singer was coming to Cleveland or telling me "look that guys single and he's looking at you" LOL. All of the memories that you left behind will STAY with EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US!! I will miss you dearly.

We will never forget the awesome times we had going to wrestling with you and your best friend (your SON). Your true laughter and concern for others will always be remembered. Rookie your sexy and we ALL know it. Love Always your Friends!!!!!

Tim was my brother in law....Will be greatly missed. He ALWAYS made me laugh. He was truly one of a kind. My fondest memory will be the way he loved his son. His laughter will always ring in my ears....Thank you everyone for all your comments as it means so much to the family......Nice to hear how he touched each of you....

I remember seeing my husband on the phone when he heard of the loss of his friend and working buddy. The look on his face was shock. "Rookie" and my husband Lenny shared rides to work each day. After work he would spend some time just talking and joking around at our house. He talked to our daughter, calista, and son chris, and myself. He made them feel apart of conversations, and joked with calista alot! He had a large heart! I was so sorry to hear of the accident. My heart goes out to his family. Always remember to tell your family you love them each day. Live life to the fullest. He will be missed, and rememberd.

Can't put into words for a "brother", who showed me how to live,laugh,love... You were always there..

I remember Tim leaving work the day things happened at the highschool to be with his son.Then see Rookie giving his som a hug on the 6 o clock news that night..Thats one hell of a man in my book.
