Thomas Vitello age 65 of Chesterland passed away suddenly from a heart attack on April 24, 2017 at Lake West Hospital. Born June 6, 1951 in Cleveland to Phillip and Naomi (nee: Thomas) Vitello, he had been a 12-year resident of Chesterland, prior of South Euclid. Tom retired as a career CNC machinist. Thomas Vitello married Susan Wellman on July 21, 1978 in South Euclid; she preceded him in death on June 29, 2010. Tom was a great and loving father and grandfather; beloved by many friends and family. Survivors include his children Adam, Holly and Sarah; grandchildren Lacey, Alana, Dustin, Makenna, Dominic, Michael & Susan; siblings Douglas Vitello and Phyllis Whelan and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Susan. A memorial gathering will be from 5-8 pm on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. Donations suggested to the Foundation for Geauga Parks 12373 Kinsman Road, Unit 113, Bldg C, Newbury, Ohio 44065. Arrangements by the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Chardon.
