Age 88 of Chardon, died April 20, 2018 at the Ohio Masonic Home in Medina. Born October 9, 1929 in Allison Hts., PA to Michael and Mary (nee: Dershaw) Sabula, he has been an area resident since 1962. He married the late Dorothy (nee: Dluback) Sabula March 30, 1951. She preceded him in death, March 12, 2016. Tom worked at GM Packard for 13 years before retiring from Lincoln Electric after 29 years of loyal service. He was a devoted family man. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed woodworking, reading and family heritage. He proudly served in Germany with the US Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his sons Thomas Michael (Katherine) Sabula of New Boston, MI, Edward Matthew (Cynthia) Sabula of Alpharetta, GA, Andrew Martin (Lisa) Sabula of Marysville, OH and Stephen Mark (Bunny) Sabula of Florissant, CO and grandsons T.J. (Meagan) and Nicholas (Ashley) Sabula, Michael (Ruth Ann) and Connor (Emily) Sabula and Drew and Clark Thomas (Christina Tefend) Sabula and great grandson, Thomas Cassius. Tom also leaves his brother Daniel (Olga) Sabula of Broadview Hts. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM Tuesday, April 24, 2018 with Parastas (Prayer) Service at 7:30 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on St. Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 25 at 10:00 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon, burial immediately following at Chardon Municipal Cemetery. The family suggests donations to St. Mary’s School, 401 North Street, Chardon, 44024.
