Tanya (nee: Heinrich) Walter age 58 of Chardon Twp. died Nov. 27, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic. Born Jan. 1, 1953 in Johnstown, PA she was a lifelong area resident. Tanya Heinrich married Steve Walter on Feb 4, 1977. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, singing and cooking. Her grandchildren adorably called her “Grammy” as she would teach them to bake. Mrs. Walter worked as a music teacher at Harvey High School and Chardon High School. She was also the choir director, musical supervisor and free harmony director. Music was her ministry to her students and to anyone who heard her sing. She touched the lives of so many students during her tenure as an educator. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Stephen Walter of Chardon Twp.; daughters Jaime (Benjamin) Camphorst of Columbus, OH and Rachel (William) Andler of Chardon; grandchildren Sophia, Cayden, Kendyl, Audrey and Kynsie; brothers Robert (Sharon) Heinrich of Florida and William Heinrich of Columbus, OH and sister Debra Hodgens of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lois (nee: Callihan) Heinrich and brother David Heinrich.
