Even though we didn't see each other often, we always seemed to just "pick up where we left off last visit". I will miss Tanya and her visits to Florida. We didn't get to see each other as often as we would have liked since I worked a lot, but we did have some special times together and I will always have great memories of those times. I will miss her Christmas cards because hers was always the first card I received every year <3 She had a sweet spirit and will be missed by many. Love you Tanya <3

I just heard of Tanya's death. I am so sorry for the family's loss. I always enjoyed talking and laughing with Tanya when she worked at the middle school. I had both Jaime and Rachel for students, and they are her living legacy. She made the world a better place !

My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Walters family. She was a wonderful teacher that not only fostered a love for music that I still carry with me today but also made me want to pursue teaching (as all good teachers do). I am sure she will be missed by all her former students at Chardon. May fond memories of her keep you warm this holiday season.

Tanya and I were in high school band and drama together. She had nothing but smiles each time we were together. I'm sure this loss is a great loss as I remember the loss of Dave (we sang the same part in our respective quartets in Ensembles).Know that you are in my prayers at this time of loss.Jan Black

I thank God for Mrs. Walter. She was very passionate and committed about singing and music. She loved teaching music to her students. I remember being in the choir and show choir with her; it was educational and fun. Her teaching and fundamentals she gave has stuck with me through the years. "You'll be greatly missed Mrs. Walter. I know your looking down on us now from heaven." The family is in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you the strength to make it through this time of grief.Choir Student from 1992-1995
Dr. Connie (Peine) Williams left a message on November 28, 2011:
To family of friends of Tanya,It is with heartfelt sadness that I read of the passing of Tanya. She and I have been friends since Junior High. I remember the silly giggling that only young girls can muster during pajama parties when we were supposed to be asleep. She was always the kind of friend who provided a spiritual light for others to follow...and it was during a summer bible study that she had invited me to attend where I was first saved, so I am one soul whose life has been changed forever by her illuminating faith.Unfortunately, it is too far for me to travel, especially this time of year as an educator...finals at the University where I teach and pre-holiday madness in the school district where I work. I know Tanya would understand, as a fellow educator - just one more aspect of our two lives that was shared. I believe that the choirs in heaven just got better with the addition of her angelic voice. She is with her mom again... and with David...and will be missed here on earth.May God enfold you in his tender care as you grieve the loss and celebrate the life of Tanya.Lovingly,Dr. Connie (Peine) Williams
