Shirley J.”Squirrely” McLaughlin (nee: Bolen)
Age 79 of Thompson Twp., died August 15, 2017 at UH Geauga Medical Center, Claridon Twp. Born May 14, 1938 in Odd, WV to George and Lillie (nee: Thompson) Bolen, she’s been in the area 50 years. She was a seamstress for the former Fisher Body, retiring after 20 years of service. Shirley enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and sharing advise with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children Hobart McKinney of Madison, Velma (Martin) Lustig of Thompson Twp., Melissa (Joseph) Latessa of Concord and Gloria McLaughlin of Geneva, her Grandchildren Jesse, Joann, Cody, Jessica, John, Andrea and Nick, and great grandchildren Christopher, Julia, Riley, Chase and Olivia. She also leaves her brother Delbert Bolen and sisters Cora, Vercie and Myrtle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles and siblings George, Eddie, Frank, Charles, Carrie and Aldie.
The family will host a gathering to celebrate her life Saturday, August 19 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (500’ south of St. Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. She was loving and caring to all that knew her. If you knew Shirley, you had a funny story!
