Sarah “Sally” (nee: Jamison) Gittings, Age 92 of Chardon Twp., died June 9, 2018. Born January 20, 1926 in Ballymena, Northern Ireland to Robert and Mary (nee: Brown) Jamison. She spent her childhood years in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  She married Howard F. Gittings in Belfast, Northern Ireland on March 23, 1945. She came to the U. S. as a war bride in 1946, and became a U.S. citizen.  She was a homemaker and member of the Pilgrim Christian Church.

Her Greatest joy was spending time with her Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren.  In her later years, She would look forward to frequent visits from her friend Jeanne Hazen.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn Elmore of Willoughby, Susan Acton of Chardon, Robert (Sandra) Gittings of Columbus, OH, Michael Gittings of Columbus, OH. Sister, Rosaleen Muirhead of Scotland, Grandchildren; James (Joyce) Elmore III, Kristin (Rich) Smith, Jessica (Daniel) Bennett, Mallory (Edward) Greenslade and Emma Gittings. Great Grandchildren; Megan Porter, Vincent Elmore, Genevieve Bennett, Sarah and Sydney Greenslade, Evangeline Bennett and Celeste Bennett.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard F. Gittings, son in law, Jim Elmore; sisters, Molly, Helen and brother, Alex.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Pilgrim Christian Church, 202 South Hambden Street, Chardon, Ohio.
