Ruth V. (Kaminski) Friedl, 90, a resident of Hambden Township, passed away Feb. 4, 2012, at Rae-Ann Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Geneva.She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Cleveland, and was a lifelong area resident.Mrs. Friedl was an active member of the Hambden Congregational Church, Hambden Township. She enjoyed the activities at the Geauga County Senior Center and traveling with Anderson Tours. She was a member of the Hambden Grange. Her first and foremost joy was spending time with her family.Mrs. Friedl was a laborer for Cleveland Twist Drill, the former Snap Out Forms and Sanborn Plastics, retiring in 1975. Her primary job in life was a loving wife and mother.Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Richard) Kawalec of Thompson Township; grandchildren, Caitlin Kawalec of Concord Township, Clayton Kawalec (a student at Ohio University) of Thompson Township; sisters, Betty Lou Butts of Mentor-on-the-Lake, and Helen Gaughan of Parma.She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Friedl in 1982; parents, Edward and Antonette Boettcher; sisters, Dorothy, Irene, Lucille and Hazel; and brothers, Russell and Edward.Funeral services and burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Hambden Cemetery, Hambden Township.Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (State Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
