SERVICES FOR RUSSELL KING, JR ARE NOT PRIVATE. THE FAMILY ENCOURAGES YOUR ATTENDANCE. Russell D. King, Jr. age 17 of Chardon, OH died February 27, 2012 at Metro General Hospital, Cleveland, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born August 12, 1994 in Claridon Twp., OH to Russell D. and Jeannie (nee: Jaite) King Sr., he was a lifelong resident of Chardon. Russell was a Junior at Chardon High School, studying Alternative Energy at Auburn Career Center. He worked at Amberwood Kennels in Hartsgrove, taking care of the dogs, property, wood pile and any other job that needed done. Russell also worked part time at Pinnacle Woods in Hambden Twp. He previously worked at Bass Lake Tavern, in the kitchen. Russell was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing and attending and participating in Tractor pulls. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Russell is survived by his parents; sister Crystal (Jeff Morrison) King of Windsor Twp.; grandmother Shirley (nee: Frazier) King of Muskegon, MI; aunts & uncles Charles and Gail Jaite of Middlefield, OH, Christine and Timothy Fuller of Chardon, OH, Bob and Eva Jaite of Chardon, OH, Mary and David Pusey of VA, Gretchen and Dale Wedge of Chardon, OH, Curtis Jaite of SC, Evonne Jaite of Mantua, OH, Brenda and Dale Wiley of Muskegon, MI, Randall and Theresa Houston of Muskegon, MI, Craig and Lori King of Muskegon, MI, and Kris and Veronica King of Twin Lakes, MI; many cousins and second cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Raymond and Josephine (nee: Regina) Jaite Goodwin and grandfather Dennis King; aunt Cindy Phillips; Cousins: Brandy King and Brian Wiley. The family of Russell King, Jr. wants to thank the community for their continued overwhelming support. “Our family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the families of all the victims involved. We would like Russell to be remembered for who he was, a strong boy with a big heart. So far, his gift of life, through LifeBanc has saved 8 lives, including a small child. His heart still beats. We ask that you continue to respect our privacy in the coming days, as we grieve and bury our son.”- Family of Russell King, Jr. To accommodate all the King Family guests, the Burr Funeral Home has secured the parking lot of the former Western Reserve Farm Coop located at 312 Park Ave. in Chardon between Tilden Ave. and the Park Ave. entrance to the Chardon Village Plaza. Also, the parking lot for Chardon Village Plaza(aka Marc’s Plaza) located at 425 Park Ave. in Chardon between Park Ave and Water Street (across from McDonald’s) has also been made available for parking. There will be transportation provided to and from both parking lots. The route for this will be: South from the Burr Funeral Home on South Street to Park Ave. The bus will head west on Park Ave stopping at the Western Reserve Farm Coop parking lot then continue west to the Chardon Village Plaza. The bus will move through the parking area at Chardon Village Plaza towards Water Street. The bus will then head east on Water Street and return to the Burr Funeral Home. The visitation on Wednesday and funeral service at the Church of St. Mary on Thursday ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and we ENCOURAGE you to come out and support the King family. PLEASE come and show your support to the family and friends.
