Sodoe was such a neat lady. I loved working with her on our rose history and all the time we spent together in my younger days out at the cabin in VA. My condolences to her girls and family. Paige (Juanita's grand daughter)

Rosemary, even though we were miles apart, it was so good to converse with you by phone. So many times we went down memory lane and talked about our experiences as we were growing up. We didn't get to see each other even way back then, but we still had lots to talk about. A lot of times, I know that you didn't feel up to chatting, and I understood that, but yet you was gracious enough to share memories with me. I know you are in a better place now, and enjoying the presence of our Lord, and family members who have gone before you. Rest in peace sweetie, and it's okay to enjoy what you're experiencing now, but, please, just wait until I get there to enjoy it all. Even though I feel sad because you no longer here, I feel assured in my heart that you are now free from the physical suffering that you endured for so long. Who knows, maybe i'll be checking in soon, then you and I can stroll all over heaven together. When you see my mama, tell her i'll be there soon.

My mother was one of the strongest women I know. Her life was not easy, but she always found beauty among the pain. She taught me to be content in your circumstances and that God would always carry you through. To love others unconditionally and be a friend to all. She also taught me that you only have 1 life to live and you should never take another breath for granted. We may have not always seen eye to eye, but over the last few years we strengthened our bond over the phone and I have some wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. For that, I will be forever grateful. I know this is just a "see you soon" not a goodbye. I can only imagine what your new eyes can see now that you walk by sight and no longer by faith. You now are where there is no more tears, pain or evil. You are where there is endless peace and endless JOY.

My mother had the strongest will of anyone I have ever met, and an innovative spirit that saw objects in ways that no one else could imagine. She could find a new and unusual use for the smallest most insignificant objects. She also had a curiosity to learn that she could never quench. I will miss her, but I am so relieved that she is no longer suffering.
