Robert E. Rollman, age 89, of Chardon Township, died April 24, 2011, at Geauga Medical Center in Claridon Township.He was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Jefferson Township, and lived there before moving to Chardon Township in 1970.Mr. Rollman was employed for 34 years as a locomotive engineer on New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail railroads.Robert married Vivian Zahniser of West Andover in 1951, in Franklin, Tenn. She preceded him in death on March 20,1981.Robert served proudly in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Corporal during World War II, with overseas service in North Africa and Italy.Mr. Rollman was a member of the Chardon United Methodist Church. He was a 59-year member of (former Tuscan Lodge 342) Willoughby Lodge 302 Free and Accepted Masons and a 59-year member of the United Transportation Union.Survivors are his grandchildren, Steve Wickert of San Diego, Calif., Sue (Drew) Herman of Rehobeth, Mass., and Delores Wickert of New York, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Tom Wickert of Livonia, Mich.He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, in 1981; daughter, Pat Wickert; parents, A.E. and Kathryn (nee: Burlingame) Rollman; sister, Bonita (Ralph) Weaver; and brother, James Rollman.A graveside service and burial will be at noon Wednesday, May 4, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 3140 E. Center St., North Kingsville. The Rev.
