ROBERT A. ROOF, Age 76 of Auburn Twp., died June 26, 2018 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Born October 22, 1941 in Cleveland to Marion and Bernadette (Nee: Mathewson) Roof, he has been a resident since 1972. Mr. Roof was an Engineer for General Electric for 30 years. He enjoyed listening to and downloading music of all kinds, bird watching, his love of God, caring for his house and playing chair volleyball. His greatest joy was playing games and spending time with his family. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet (nee: Dietz), daughters Michelle (Christopher) Coon of Chardon and Nicole (Dave) Emerson of Cincinnati, grandchildren Chelsea, Vikki, Bobby and Seianna. He loved to spend his summers and Thanksgivings with the Smiths and Joan Cross.

An Outdoor Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the home of Janet & Bob 12:00 – 1:00 PM. The family asks that you bring a chair or blanket for seating.  In the event of inclement weather, the Memorial Service will be held at Auburn Community Church, 11076 East Washington St., Chagrin Falls. The family will then receive friends Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (on St. Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, concluded with Military Honors.
