Richard “Dick” Malinas age 78 of Hambden Twp. died Nov. 17, 2014 at UH Geauga Medical Center. Born Feb. 17, 1936 in Cleveland to Albert and Marie (nee: Kulchar) Malinas, he had been a longtime Richmond Hts. resident before moving to Hambden Twp. 12 years ago. Richard married Donnie Mezget in Germany on July 1, 1960 while serving with the US Army. Dick was a longtime State Farm insurance agent, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Donnie of Hambden Twp; daughter Lori (Mike) Richardson of Chardon; son Richard (Rebecca) Malinas Jr of Concord; grandchildren Jacob and Maddy Malinas and brother-in-law Tom Price of Longs, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Ann Price. MEMORIAL SVC: 7pm Friday Nov. 21, 2014 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. GATHERING: Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
