It is with deep sadness that the family announce the death of Ralph “Peter” Weimerskirch, who passed away Friday, February 23 at Sun City Center Hospice House in Ruskin, FL.
Pete was born in Fostoria, OH on 12/27/1942. He was always a kind, generous soul who loved to live life. Over the years you could catch him driving his fire truck loaded with friends, serving drinks at his bar, selling clothes at his clothing store, or selling cars.
Pete loved boating on Lake Erie, and had a special place in his heart for Put-in-Bay. He owned several boats from the WHATEVER to the FOR PETE’S SAKE.
Pete is survived by his children – Elizabeth Whetstone (Jay), Meggin Weimerskirch (Mick McCabe), Shannon Weimerskirch (Theresa). Grand Children – Harrison & Reed Whetstone, Alex Hoke (Camila), Hanna & Grayson Weimerskirch. Sisters Julie Kavanagh, Karen Matthews – brothers Jim (Claudia), Steve (Marianne), Tim (Jacquie), Gary (Betsy Hancock), sister in law Jenny Weimerskirch, a boatload of nieces & nephews, and a couple of ex-wives.
Pete is proceeded in death by his parents Helen & Ralph Weimerskirch, and his brother David.
A celebratory mass will be held on Saturday, March 10 – 10am – at Sacred Heart – 893 Hamlet Street, Columbus, OH 43201. Pete was a huge dog lover, and donations can be made to Pets Without Parents – petswithoutparents.net.
