PETE KOSTELEC, Age 70 of Claridon Twp, died December 11, 2016. Born June 10. 1946 to Virgil and Frances (nee: Krall) Kostelec in Cleveland, he was raised in Richmond Heights, graduating from Richmond Heights High School in 1964. Pete served in the United States Army 1966 to 1968 making rank of Sgt. E5 in the Military Police. He then discharged from the Army Reserves in 1972. His work career started in landscaping for Ornamental Nurseries, Inc.; although he retired in 2006 from the Claridon Township Maintenance Department as Road Superintendent after 25 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and traveling “Out West” to Alaska, East to Maine and to Newfoundland, New Brunswick Canada and Vermont moose hunting. He has been a long time member of the NRA (Patron Member), Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association.
Pete is survived by his devoted wife of over 47 years, Darlene (nee: Hartman). He was always so proud of his Kids; son Steve (Julie) and daughter, Katie (Chuck) Spitler and his special 4-legged sidekick, Frank. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia, sister in law Sally, nephew, Mike, niece, Karen and all the loving In-Laws and Friends. Pete is predeceased by his son, Matthew, his parents, brother Gil and father in law, Melvin Hartman.
