Peggy Ann Vansant
Age 82, a Hambden Twp. Resident for over 40 years, died at Symphony at Mentor Assisted Living on Wed., Nov. 22, 2017. She was born in Cambridge, OH, on May 13, 1935, to Frank C. and Florence M. (Nee: Vermillion) Arnold and graduated from New Concord High School.
Peggy married Kenneth Bevington in Terre Haute, IN on March 8, 1954. He preceded in death on July 26, 1998. She then married Earl “Duke” Vansant in Chardon, OH, on May 22, 1999. He also preceded in death on November 30, 2008.
She was a member of the Chardon United Methodist Church. She made several beautiful quilts, enjoyed working in her flower beds, ceramics, baking and reading. She got the most enjoyment, though, spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty (Jack) Ross of Chardon, son Kenneth (Pam) Bevington II of Mentor, 4 grandchildren, Ann (Ralph) Melvin, Matthew Ross, Jamie (Ryan) Huber, Kenneth (Tania) Bevington III; 5 great-grandchildren, Ashleigh and Austin Melvin, Lacey and Leilani Ross and Kensley Huber. She was preceded in death by her two husbands.
The family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Wed., Nov. 29, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (on St. Rt. 44, 500’ South of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, with funeral services following at 8PM. Interment will be on Thur., Nov. 30, 10AM at Chardon Municipal Cemetery. Donations are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, 44110.
