Owen Lamar Redford age 66 of Hartville, Ohio and Eustis, Florida and formerly of Roaming Shores, died May 1, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. He was born on April 21, 1946 in Florence, Alabama.Owen was a central office technician for the former Alltel Phone Company until his retirement in 2006. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne in Vietnam. He was a volunteer fireman for the Rome fire department. Owen coached his children in a variety of sports and was a dedicated father and grandfather. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. I will never forget the fun times we all had when Sandy and Duane were with us, our trip to Niagara Falls, the pumpkin patches, all the birthdays, Christmases....warm memories. Lamar on the way to disney world with my wife and kids April 21 I called to wish you happy birthday and you sounded so good and i was looking forward to seeing you in July for the family reunion then I hear of your sudden passing. What a reality check because we just never know when the Lord is ready to take us. Iam so glad you were a part of my life as my cousin. I want to thank you and Jane so much for being there for me two years ago at the passing of my mother. You were like a calm amongst the storm of my sorrow. Although my wife and girls did not know you long they loved you, for you was so kind and loving to them. Iam sure you are in a better place now with your parents and mine. One day when the Lord is ready I will hopefully be joining you again in that place that Jesus has prepared for us. For all the family members that are left behind you have my deepest sympathy. Life will not be the same, but will go on with the wonderful memories that are left behind.
