Owen Lamar Redford age 66 of Hartville, Ohio and Eustis, Florida and formerly of Roaming Shores, died May 1, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. He was born on April 21, 1946 in Florence, Alabama.Owen was a central office technician for the former Alltel Phone Company until his retirement in 2006. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne in Vietnam. He was a volunteer fireman for the Rome fire department. Owen coached his children in a variety of sports and was a dedicated father and grandfather. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. He was an active member of the Westside Church of Christ in Akron.Survivors include his wife, Jane Redford of Hartville, Ohio; Daughter, Renee Blair of Roaming Shores, Son, Scott (Krista) Redford of Madison, Grandchildren; Brooklynne, Austin, Lexington Blair, Jacob Redford, Steven, Jeremy, Luke, Meredith Archer, Benjamin, Madeline, and Andrew Swartz, and Racheal YoungStep Daughters; Jacquelyn (Brian) Archer of Hattiesburg, MS, Jessica (Michael) Swartz of North Canton, Step Son, James Young of Chesapeake, VA, Brothers; Wayne Redford of Stow, Gary (Carol) Redford of Richfield, Joseph Redford of Alabama, Travis Redford of Green, OH, Sisters; Linda (Harold) Brady of Alabama, Catheline Redford of Alabama, and Frances Gray of Stow, OH and many nieces, nephews, and dear friendshe is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Sandra Dee (Parsons) Redford, Parents, Garnet and Maggie Redford, and Brother, Terry RedfordFuneral service is Friday, May 4, 2012 at 7:00PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.Mike Miles, Ph.D. will officiate. Visitaion is Friday from 1-3 and 5-7PM at the funeral home.
