Olga M. STRMEN age 87 of Richmond Heights, a homemaker extraordinaire, passed away Aug. 31, 2014 at UH Geauga Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 8, 1926 in Bratislava, Slovakia to Karol and Angela (nee: Tomco) Sidor, she had been a longtime area resident. Olga enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and speaking her native language, Slovak. She was a member of Cenacolo Italiano Di Cleveland and a former member of the Cleveland State Faculty Wife’s Association. She was instrumental in the editing of her father’s diaries in Slovakia by providing manuscripts and clarifications. Survivors include her son Peter (Joyce) Strmen of Burton; daughter Christine Strmen of Richmond Heights; grandchildren Gary (Nicole) Moneysmith and Steve (Julie) Strmen; great-grandchildren Laurel, Andrew, Ella, Ava, Chase, Wesley, Matthew and Isabella; brother Stan (Sandra) Sidor of Vancouver, BC and Peter Sidor of Montreal, Quebec. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Karol Strmen; siblings Angela, Charles and Andrew and granddaughter Elizabeth Harton. FUNERALMASS: 11am Friday Sept. 5, 2014 at St. Helen Catholic Church 12060 Kinsman Rd. Newbury, OH 44065 with burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery. VISITATION: 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH.
