Myrtle E. Baskin (nee: Wilms), Age 99, of Munson Twp., died October 28, 2017 at her home at The Maplewood, Munson Twp. Born October 6, 1918 in Cleveland to Charles and Gertrude (nee: Staffeld) Wilms, she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Baskins was an avid sports fan, following the Cleveland Browns, Indians, Cavs and the Ohio State Buckeyes. She very much enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting. She was a Professional Business Women, the only one in Management in the Manufacturing Industry.
Survivors include her children Dick and his spouse Gay Baskin of Buchanan Dam, TX and Dan Baskin of Huntsburg Twp., granddaughter Rene’ and her spouse Bobby Weems of Conroe, TX and great grandchildren Courtney and Wesley Weems. She also leaves her sister Eleanor Pura of Claridon Twp. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lon Baskin, Step Father James H. Evans and 2 brothers, Charles and Robert Wilms.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (on St. Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. The Funeral Service will be Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at Claridon Center Cemetery, Claridon Twp. Information and condolences online at www.burrservice.com
