Michael Patrick Morris, 50, of Chardon, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 3, 2018. He was born on March 4, 1967, to the late William and Helen Luther Morris in Garfield Heights.
He attended Saints Peter & Paul and was a 1985 graduate of Chanel High School in Bedford, Ohio. He also attended Cuyahoga Community College.
On September 30, 1995, he married the former Brenda Wetzel of Fredonia, Pa. Together, the couple has three children, Matthew, Connor, and Kenzie, to whom Michael was a dedicated and devoted father.
Friendly and gregarious, Michael was a natural-born salesman and spent the last 25 years as a Manager in the car sales industry. Over the years, he trained and mentored hundreds of salesmen throughout Greater Cleveland. Michael’s mentoring spirit also extended to sports as a dedicated youth football coach for eight years, coaching his three children plus many others. He also served as president of the Chardon Football Club. Michael loved watching his children participate in a variety of sports and cheering them on as their biggest fan. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. He will be remembered by everyone who knew him as a big-hearted, larger than life personality, who was always ready to lend a hand.
In addition to his wife of 22 years, and his three children at home, he is survived by his mother, Helen Morris (Roland) Tonsing; three sisters, Colette (Tim) O’Linn, Kathy Taylor, and Michelle Welling; two brothers, Patrick (Linda) Morris and Bill Morris.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Allen Wilson of Impact Church at Chardon Christian Fellowship, 401 South Hambden St., Chardon, Oh 44024. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (On St. Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon and on Saturday, March 10th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and immediately following the service at the church.
