MELINDA TAYLOR-BRIGGS, Age 65, a longtime resident of Huntsburg Twp., died at her home on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, from complications of COPD. She was born in Cleveland, OH, on May 5, 1952, to Theodore “Ted” and Jean (Nee: Wagers) Taylor, raised in Huntsburg Twp. and graduated from Cardinal High School. Melinda had also lived in Colorado and North Carolina, but returned to Huntsburg after her marriage to Richard Briggs on April 29, 1978, in Asheville, NC.
Melinda was a State Certified Home Health Aide with Care Corp in Chardon, and has served as a volunteer and former board member of Woman’s Safe. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed music, Irish Festivals, rummage sales, floral gardening, and traveling, (especially to the mountains of North Carolina and their blue-grass music). Also, she loved the many cats that she had in her home over the years.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Briggs of Huntsburg; mother, Jean Taylor of Huntsburg; and brother, Mark (Carla Hosmer) Taylor of Burton, OH. She was preceded in death by her father.
