Melba F. McVey (nee: Carrico), Age 81 of Mentor, passed away July 13, 2014 at Altercare of Mentor. Born March 7, 1933 in Fries, VA to William and Anna Carrico, she had been a longtime area resident. Melba was the Vice President of Stratford Manufacturing in Chardon. Survivors include her children Cindy (Norman) Hively of Rock Creek, Rick (Ginny) McClain of Mentor, Scott (Tanya) McVey of Mentor; grandchildren Paul, Patty, Pam, Shawna, Renee, Heather, Bethany and Carlie; many great-grandchildren and sister Gladys Sarli of Willoughby. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie McVey, son Ron McClain, siblings Ann Anthony, Blanche DeSalvo and William Carrico. FUNERALSVC: 11am on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH with burial to follow at Hambden Twp Cemetery.
