Matthew Rittwage

June 23, 1956 - April 29, 2012

Matthew K. Rittwage age 55 of Chardon died April 29, 2012 at his residence. Born June 23, 1956 in Painesville to Robert and Norma (nee: Embacher) Rittwage, he was a lifelong area resident. Matt worked as a Foreman with Bowden Manufacturing in Willoughby. He married Dawn Gibaldi on Nov. 24, 1984 in Chardon. Matt enjoyed watching NASCAR and tinkering in his garage. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and loved his pets. His greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family. Matt is survived by his wife Dawn (nee: Gibaldi) Rittwage of Chardon; daughters Danielle and Amanda Rittwage of Chardon; father Robert (Barbara Polcar) J. Rittwage of Madison; brother Robert Rittwage of Painesville; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Norma (nee: Embacher) Rittwage. Memorial service will be 8pm Wednesday May 2, 2012 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place.

I'm at loss of words for what happened. We were all hoping for a miracle to come, but now he is in peace. He's no longer in pain. I wish so badly that there was something I could do to comfort Amanda, Danielle, and Dawn but I know all I can do is be there for them if they need me. He's protecting and watching over you three with love <3 I love you Amanda, be strong.
