Mary Ann Post (nee: MEYER), Age 89 of Claridon Twp., died May 5, 2018 at Maplewood of Chardon. Born January 26, 1929 in Cleveland to George and Elizabeth (nee: Krank) Meyer, she was a lifelong area resident. Mary Ann was the Chief Deputy Auditor for the Geauga County Auditor’s Office for 32 years, retiring in 1979. She was an active member of the community, volunteering at Geauga Hospital, the Geauga Park District and the Geauga County Senior Center. She enjoyed floral gardening and fishing on the Trent River in Canada. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Claridon.
She is survived by her niece Linda (Jim) Petkosek of Hambden Twp., nephew James Meyer of Hambden Twp., and sister in law, Phyllis Oliphant of Chardon and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, niece Debra Elko, nephew Donald Meyer, sister Nancy Meyer and brothers Donald W. Meyer, Richard and Jack Oliphant.
There will be a graveside service held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Claridon Center Cemetery, Claridon Twp. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
