Bob Sheridan left a message on August 2, 2014:
It's hard to believe that the student I called "Miss Katey" has left us. I came out of retirement from Mayfield High School and taught Katey's junior English class at NDCL. She was a bright, engaging young lady. The following year, we bonded more helping with the sophomore retreat, laughing and leaning on each other as the retreat master sang the song "Lean on Me." We met a couple of times for lunch when she was in college, including one time where she showed me a cell phone video of her riding a mechanical bull for her 21st birthday. My prayers and sympathy go to her family. Miss Katey will be missed.

Connie Coleman left a message on August 1, 2014:
Welhouse family, Katey and I worked together at L'Occitane and were roommates very briefly while she was looking for an apartment. She became my neighbor and great friend. Her energy was contagious and the way she lived her life was inspirational. We share a love for France, althought I've never been. My most sincere sympathies go out to her loving family and friends who's lives she touched so deeply. Katey will be missed, but most definately not forgotten. ~Connie

I was neighbors with the Welhouses and babysat Katy for several years. She was always a joy and knew how to make you laugh. She was always putting on "fashion shows" and plays. I will always hold those memories dear and my heart goes out to the family.

I worked with Katey at Dillards Great Northern. No matter what was going on, she had a smile on her face and put a smile on the face of everyone around her. Katey was so upbeat and always encouraged me if it was a lousy day. She was a stunningly beautiful girl, inside and out. Katey was a blessing to the countless lives she touched; and I am honored and blessed to have known her. Now she graces heaven with her beautiful smile. Please know you are all in my prayers, my deepest condolences.

Katey was my colleague roommate for a year. Lots of memories at the good ole' Princeton house. She had a fire in her. Let that memory live on forever. Prayers for the family. May she rest in peace.

I first met Katey when she came to work at Dillard's at Belden Village. She was such a fun, intelligent, and caring person that we just became friends immediately. I often watched her cats when she went out of town - they were her little babies. I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. My life was better for having known Katey - she touched many lives.
