Judith “Judy” Kelly

Judith “Judy” Kelly (nee: Bates) age 73, of Burton, OH died January 30, 2012 at Burton Healthcare Center, Burton, OH. Born October 9, 1938 in Painesville, OH to Wallace and Marjorie (nee: Kaminski) Bates she was a resident of Huntsburg Twp. before moving to Burton in 1997. Judy worked for 20 years as a clerk for Vijac Wholesale Pet Supply in Huntsburg, Twp. Judy Bates married Kenneth Kelly, March 12, 1960 in Painesville, OH. He preceded her in death August 24, 1996. Judy enjoyed traveling, taking Anderson Tours Bus Trips and camping. She was an avid seamstress. She made most of her children’s clothing and taught sewing as a 4H advisor and was a Cub Scout Den leader. Judy enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking. She loved to arrange flowers and over the years, arranged them for several weddings. Her fondest memories were playing games with her family; Yahtzee, Uno, dominos, bingo, Michigan Rummy, Bunko and Pinnacle. Judy loved music and attending the Great Geauga County Fair to hear the High School bands. She is survived by her children Kathleen Kelly, Adrianne “Andy” (Michael) Swan of Hartville, OH, Brian (Becky) Kelly of Middlefield, OH and Erin (David) Rock of Burton, OH; grandchildren Brooke (Reggie) Rios of LA, CA, Jake Novak of Akron, Andrew Swan of Hartville, Kaitlyn Kelly of Middlefield, Patrick Swan of Hartville, Kourtney Kelly of Middlefield, Amy Swan of Hartville; siblings Fred (Priscilla) Bates of Painesville, OH, Patricia Spangler of Boise, ID and Robert Bates of Fairport Harbor, OH. She was preceded in death by husband Kenneth Kelly and her parents. The family requests donations to Burton Health Care Center, In memory of Judy Kelly, 14095 E. Center Street, Burton, OH 44021
