Juanita E. Klatka (nee: Godfrey) age 84 of Newbury passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 6, 2017, after wonderful care by the staff at Blossom Hill Care Center. Born Sept. 27, 1932 to John and Irene (nee: Zimmer) Godfrey in Stow, she had been a longtime area resident. Juanita married Stanley Klatka on Sept. 27, 1952. Survivors include Gary (Judy) of Florida, Craig (Jeanne) of Colorado, Johnnie (Robin) of South Carolina, Larry of Newbury, Gay (Christopher) Hansen of Newbury, Stach of Wadsworth and Joy (David) Stang of Claridon; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Frank and John Godfrey. Juanita was the mother of 7 and a “mom” to all. She enjoyed vacations in the motorhome filled with family, friends and fun to Disney every year at Easter; dancing, singing, knitting and sewing. Juanita was inducted into the Newbury High School Hall of Fame and was a coach for the St. Helen Catholic Church Unicycle Team. A memorial gathering will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH.
