Joseph F. Divoky

March 16, 1923 - March 31, 2012

Mr. Divoky was a Veteran of US Army during World War II. He was an active member of the Church of St. Mary, Chardon, OH and a graduate of Chardon High School. Joe was the family videographer, capturing hundreds of hours of family and travel. He had a very analytical mind and was able to fix anything. He taught his family to work hard, to love the land, to drive a tractor, to farm, to make maple syrup, to travel, to play “66”, to take care of our family and most of all, to pray. He is survived by his wife Wilma (Nee: Malinzak) of Hambden Twp, OH, whom he married November 26, 1949 in Euclid, OH, 4 daughters Rosemary (Eugene John) Spiker of Brunswick, OH, Joan (Mike) Moran of Avon, OH, Carol (Roger) Koch of Reily Twp., OH, Marianne (Paul) Kaiser of Stoneham, CO. and 1 son James (Jan Wood) of Edinburg Twp., OH. He also leaves 17 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren, 1 sister Lillian (Denis) Grau of Chardon, OH, 1 sister-in-law Frances Divoky of Chardon, OH, 2 brothers-in-law Harry Zimmerli of Willoughby, OH and Robert Lampman of Hambden Twp., OH. and innumerable nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His parents Stephen and Rosalie (Nee:Vostrak) Divoky, 2 sisters Rosemary Zimmerli and Mary Lampman and 1 brother Lou Divoky are deceased. Dear Rose and Gene - We were very sorry to hear of the death of your beloved father. We met him during two family gatherings and loved his welcoming, friendly smile and his ability to make us feel at home. He will be in our prayers.

Dear Family, I thought I would share a couple of the happy memories I had with Grandpa. I remember when I was younger sitting in their kitchen looking at the rainbows on the walls and floor from the prisms coming in from the window. Then I brought my son to visit many years later and Grandpa made the rainbows dance on the floor for him and he sure got a big kick out of it. I remember Grandpa dancing with Grandma to their favorite polka music, and now I giggle when I hear it at festivals. I think of Grandpa looking for parts or odds and ends when we would go out to the Middlefield Market, and he'd smile when found something interesting. We had lunch at the house and he'd give my Luc balloons, a special hat (Grandpa and his hats) or blow a napkin across the table just to make him laugh. He would let Jocelyn play with his walker in the Residence and see her go from one end of the room to the other and just smile. And when he met my little Lincoln, he looked and called him a blessing and a miracle. That was my Grandpa; loving, kind and a blessing.

Dear Rose, John and Family, We are so very sorry. We saw your Dad at happy occasions and he always had a twinkle in his eyes. That is how I'll remember him.We are thinking of all of you in sorrow and sympathy.Love, Morgan and Pat
