John J. Callow Jr.
Age, 72, of Burton, OH, died on Wed., Aug 30, 2017, at UH Geauga Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born to John J. and Helen Ann (Nee: Busch) Callow Sr. John graduated from Willoughby South High School and attended Tri C. College. On February 18, 1967, he married Claudia M. Mabie in Willoughby, OH. She preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 2004.
John was an aerospace engineer, specializing in landing gear, and had worked for BF Goodrich and ATI Aviation Services. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville, OH. His hobbies include, hunting (especially with his dear friend, John Filby), fishing, trapping, bow hunting, duck hunting. He was a great teller of “tales”, both true, as well as “tall.” He recently began part time work for Great Lakes Outdoor and Supply in Middlefield.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Kelley (Eric) Hendrix of Willoughby, Jennifer (Arthur Jr.) Semlow of Chardon, and Linda (Brian) Esway of Hilliard, OH; 3 grandchildren; Noah Semlow, Kent Esway and Claudia Hendrix; 1 sister; Marsha (Carl) Sjoberg of Seattle, WA; 1 brother, Robert Callow of Madison, OH, and his fiancé, Alexis Kreuzer of Burton, OH and her daughter, Amber Grzybeowski of Lakewood, OH.
VISITATION: Sat. Sept. 2, 2017, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., with the FUNERAL SERVICE following at 6:30 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St, Chardon, Ohio.
