James A. Moffitt age 86 of Montville Twp. Died Aug. 17, 2014 at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg. Born Oct. 26, 1927 in Sayre, PA to William and Flora (nee: Thomas) Moffitt, he had been a longtime area resident. Jim was a veteran of the US Army after which he worked as an Engineer with Cleveland Pneumatic Tool. Survivors include his sons David (Lauren) of Manhasset, NY and William (Suzanne) of Naperville, IL; three grandchildren; sisters Helen Moffitt of Willow Street, PA and Jeanne Merten of Leesburg, VA and his beloved partner Shirley Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents. FUNERALSVC: 11am Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. Burial will follow at Oakdale Union Cemetery in Jefferson, OH. VISITATION: 5-7pm on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Arrangements by the Burr Funeral Home in Chardon.
