James M. “Jim” Young, Jr., Age 92, of Claridon Twp., died January 18, 2017 at Blossom Hill Care Center. Born October 27, 1924, to James M. and Margaret Young, Sr., he was a lifelong area resident. Jim was the Owner/Operator of Blackmore Security in Painesville for many years. He retired 5 years ago. He was very active with the Shriners, he was a member of the Eagle Shrine and a life member of The Painesville Elks #549. He attended the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY and sailed with convoys during the last part of World War II. For many years, Jim played the bag pipes with the Cleveland Kilty Band, marched in local parades, played for weddings and funerals and had several piping students. He is survived by his step son, Harry (Marjorie) Bones of Claridon Twp., 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lee, and his second wife, Virginia Bones.
