James F. Davisson age 82 of Chardon was born on April 22, 1929 in Hardman, WVa. He had been a resident of Chardon for the past 45 years and had previously lived in Cleveland. He died on October 4, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones.Jim worked as a supervisor for General Motors in Euclid, and Lordstown, OH until his retirement in 1984.He married Betty Lou Myers on July 5, 1952 in Maryland and was a WWII veteran in the Marine Corps. He was a member of Village Lodge #274 F&AM in Burton, OH. Jim collected antique cars and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at his cabin in Tionesta, PA. He enjoyed gardening, animals, and was an avid sports fan.Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou of Chardon; Children; Joyce (Michael) Balish of Burton, Jim (Kathy) Davisson of Chardon, Jeri Ray of Chardon, Grandchildren; Todd, Keith (Dalene) Davisson, Evan and Morgan Ray, Great Grandchildren; Courtney, Alex, and Kyle Davisson, and a sister, Charlotte Knotts of Ridgeley, WVaHe is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Daisy, and brothers; William, David, and Donald Davisson.A funeral services will be Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 7:00PM following a Masonic Service at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Visitation is from 5-7PM on Thursday at the Burr Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Munson Twp. with full military honors on Friday October 7th.
