Age 91, a 65 year resident of Gates Mills, died September 12, 2017 at Cleveland Clinic – Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Hts., OH. He was born in Cleveland, OH, on August 18, 1926, to Robert and Jennie (Nee: Carlson) Malm. He graduated from Brush High School before entering the US Army during WWII. “Tiger” was a 41 year machinist/tool and die maker for General Electric in Cleveland, OH, then worked for an additional 20 years for Eye Lighting International in Mentor, OH.
“Tiger” was a member of Acacia Lodge #651 F&AM in Euclid, OH; Valley of Cleveland, Scottish Rite; Al Koran Shrine; Jesters; and past commodore of the Al Koran Mariners Yacht Club. He enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada, boating, bowling and helping friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Tillie (Nee: Anderson), whom he married on Aug. 9, 1952, in Cleveland, OH; daughter, Laura (Chris) Malm-LaRue of Gates Mills, OH; son, Robert (Susan) of Kirtland, OH; 4 grandchildren, Christopher LaRue, Erin Malm (deceased), LeighAnn Malm, and Dustin Malm; great grandson, Landon LaPlant.
VISITATION: Fri. Sept. 22, from 5-8 PM, with a Masonic Service at 8:00PM, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, OH. FUNERAL SERVICE: Sat. Sept. 23, 11:00AM at St. Christopher by the River, 7601 Old Mill Rd, Gates Mills, OH. Interment will be in Gates Mills Cemetery. DONATIONS suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45229.
