Age 79, of Newbury Township. – Harold Lee Mansfield passed away on July 29, 2017 in his home with his loving family.
Harold was proceeded in death by his parents Arah A. Mansfield and Florentine (Leppelmeirer), his sister Elinore, his brothers George, and Arthur.
Harold is survived by his wife Carol (Jacobs) of 53 years, his sons Harold, Jr. (Erin McKay) and Bryan, his two grandchildren Spencer and Jackson, and 2 brothers, Paul and William.
Harold was born at the family farmhouse in Newbury in 1937. Harold attended Newbury High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He and Carol built their home on the family farm property alongside his brothers, where he raised his two children. He worked for Newbury Industries for 33 years, and retired from Endura Plastics 5 years after that.
Harold loved to travel with his family, extended family, and friends. He and his family camped and traveled the states extensively. He loved to snowmobile and took many trips each year across five states and Canada while snowmobiling.
After retiring, he began restoring antique Two Cylinder John Deere tractors and involved himself in several local groups such as The Historical Engine Society Inc. in Burton, OH, and showing his restored tractors all over the states. He restored over 20 tractors, small engines, and had several projects going at once. His restored tractors can be seen photographed in magazines of John Deere enthusiasts. John Deere of Moline, IA invited Harold and his tractors to be photographed for their grand opening of their new museum. He traveled with his tractors to the Two Cylinder Expo in Iowa every year. He also attended shows in NY, FL, PA, and all over Ohio.
The family will be receiving family and friends on Monday August 7th, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Burr Funeral Home in Chardon.
