Harold “Speedy” Folk, age 89 of E. Claridon passed away March 22, 2017 at Blossom Hill Care Center. Born July 5, 1927 in Friedens, PA to John Harold and Hattie (nee: Steinly) Folk, he had been a longtime E. Claridon resident. Speedy worked as a milk delivery man for Dean Moss Dairy and Hawthorne Melody Dairy before his retirement in 1983. Prior to moving to E. Claridon, Speedy served in the US Navy aboard the USS Enterprise as a Fireman First Class during WWII. He was a 60-year member of Village Lodge #274 F&AM. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Leta (nee: Butler) (whom he married June 10, 1950 in E. Claridon); daughter Janet (James) Reuter of Cleveland Hts; sons Larry (Judy) of Richfield, James (Kelly) of Ft. Worth, TX and Kenneth of E. Claridon; grandchildren Michael (Jessica) Folk, Amanda (Jake) Sankal, Marissa Folk, Peter Reuter, Mark (Colleen) Reuter and Katie Reuter; sisters Maxine Corbett of Richwood, WV and Carol (Jack) Campbell of Charleston, WV; brother George (Roberta) Folk of Crossville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary, Ella and Lucille; brothers John, Paul, Robert, James, Blair and Dale. A memorial gathering will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH.
