Gladys Bogan married Chad Thrasher in Chardon, OH on December 30, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1988. She and her husband founded the first local television store, Thrasher Radio and TV, in 1948. They retired in 1985 to travel. The store is still in business today. Gladys was an avid volunteer for many community organizations. She was a member of the former Chardon Aquarius Club, the group that helped raise money to build the original Geauga Community Hospital. She was a long time volunteer for the Geauga County Cancer Society and served ham sandwiches for the Chardon Fire Department during the Geauga County Maple Festival for many years. She enjoyed crocheting lap blankets and baby caps for VFW Post 6519 in Chardon. Gladys took great pleasure in gardening, loved to bake and had no rule against pie for breakfast. She and her family spent most of their summers in Canada at the family cabin. She is survived by her daughters Pamela Thrasher of Winston-Salem, NC, Shelley (William) Lucas of Concord Twp., OH, Vicki (Dale) Seufer of Concord Twp., OH, sons Chadwick “Chip” (Nancy) Thrasher of Corinth, MS and Gary (Judy) Thrasher of Concord Twp., OH, grandmother of six; great grandmother of two. Gladys was one of 14 children raised in OK, survived by five sisters in OK and one brother in TX. Her husband Chad R. Thrasher and parents George and Lula Mae (Nee: Turner) Bogan are deceased.
