FRANK H. GACNIK

Age 95 of Chardon, died at his home January 4, 2018. Born March 3, 1922 in Cleveland to Frank and Ann Gacnik, he was a longtime resident of S. Euclid before moving to Arizona and then Geauga County. Frank was a Mechanical Engineer for more than 50 years, specializing in Machine design. He was very active at the Geauga County Senior Center, teaching wood carving and he participated with the Slovenian Club. Frank proudly served as a Marine in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

Survivors include his sons, Wayne (Janet) Gacnik of Chagrin Falls and Jeffrey (Linda) Gacnik of Concord Twp., 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and his wives, Anne (nee: Hocevar) Gacnik and Dorothy (nee: Benko) Gacnik.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 17 at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon. Private family burial will be at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Twp. The family suggests donations to At. Mary School, 401 North Street, Chardon, 44024.
