Evelyn M. Barnes age 69 of Chardon passed away May 5, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Born June 3, 1945 in Reels Corner, PA to Lester and Effie (nee: Mangus) Crissey, she had been a longtime area resident. Evelyn married Jimmey Barnes on April 7, 1964 in Chicago, IL. She was the Ad Editor with the Weekly Mail in Chardon and a secretary with the First Baptist Church in Chardon. Her hobbies included reading and sewing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband Jimmey of Chardon; daughters Sonya Fay of Chardon, Rosemary (Jeff) Myers of Chardon, Roseann (Ray) Williamson of Middlefield and Ginney Myers of Chardon; grandchildren Jeff, Danielle, Tyler, Hailey, Stephanie and Joshua; great-grandchildren Michael, Kara and Cassie; brothers Robert (Judy) Crissey of Arizona and Roger (Norma) Crissey of Painesville Twp. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Ken Crissey, Erma Swartzwelder, Shirley Jones, Russell Crissey, Richard Crissey, Sandra Phipps, and Judy Kangas. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Saturday May 9, 2015 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Saturday May 9, 2015 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Chardon Municipal Cemetery.
