Erna M. Arko age 90, a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, died October 21, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg. She was born on August 3, 1921 in the Czech Republic and immigrated to the U.S. in April of 1956. Erna was a cake decorator at Hough Bakeries until her retirement in 1975. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, and recently took up watercolors and needlepoint. Survivors include her sons; Herb (Lynne) of Leroy Twp. and Lou (Tracy) of Chagrin Falls; grandchildren; Chrysten, Alexandra, Renee, Brianna, Nicole, Camerin, and Amanda; great grandchildren; Christopher, Rachel, and Alyssa. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Arko and parents, Kantus and Maria Stegbauer and all her sisters and brotherMass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at The Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (St. Rt. 44, 500′ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
