Erma I. BENNETT (nee: Cowger) age 92 of Burton, a homemaker, died Dec. 18, 2014 at her residence. Born Oct. 7, 1922 in Hacker Valley, WV to Lewis and Virgie (nee: Wimer) Cowger, she had been a longtime area resident. Erma enjoyed canning, gardening, fishing with her grandchildren and watching the Cleveland Indians. Survivors include her children Brenda Bennett of Middlefield, Frank Bennett Jr of Burton and Patricia (Stan) Nally of Windham; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister Myrtle (Junior) Cummings of Ravenna; daughter-in-law Wilma Cowger of Newton Falls and many extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank Bennett Sr; children Carlos Cowger and Wanda (nee: Bennett) Rolder; grandchildren J.C. Hendrix and Lisa Cowger and 13 siblings. FUNERALSVC: 1pm on Monday Dec. 22, 2014 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. VISITATION: 11am-1pm on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Twp. Arrangements by the Burr Funeral Home of Chardon.
