Elsie J. Horton (nee: Gura) age 92 of Chardon died Aug. 19, 2014 at Burton Health Care Center. Born June 25, 1922 in Middlefield to Charles and Minnie (nee: Finn) Gura, she had been a longtime Chester Twp. resident before moving to Chardon 30 years ago. She enjoyed watching sports, decorating her home, listening to and dancing to polka music, especially the Beer Barrel Polka. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin “Mel” Horton; brother William Gura; sisters Clara Battles, Harriet McGregor and Pauline Weiss. FUNERALSVC: 11am Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. Burial will follow at Chester Center Cemetery. VISITATION: 10-11am Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements by the Burr Funeral Home in Chardon.
