ELIZABETH J. “BETTY” HAVNESS (nee: Tomsuden), Age 91 of Chardon, died April 15, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving daughter. Born January 18, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Louis and Jean (nee: Taylor) Tomsuden she lived in Venice, FL before moving to Chardon 14 years ago. Betty loved to swim and travel. She was a Medical Records Analyst at Huntington Hospital, Long Island, NY for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her son, Stephan T. Arndt of LI, NY, daughter Nancy (Andrew Houghton) Arndt, DDS, grandchildren Jennifer Scherbauer and Andrew (Angela) Scherbauer, both of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Havness, her parents and her daughter Carolyn Arndt.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on St. Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 at the funeral home. The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, 44110.
