Eleanor was a Kitchen Aide for Ledgemont High School for six years and a EKG Technician at St. Vincent Charity Hospital. A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Thompson, Ohio and a Member of the Geauga Bee Association known as the “Bee Lady” at the Geauga County Fair.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph J. Spirka of Montville; daughter, Therese M. (Charles) Dawes of Ashtabula; son, Joseph M. of Montville; sister, Janet (Ray) Foust of Berea, OH; grandson, Jason M. (April) Metz of Madison Twp., and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, OH. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek Rd. Thompson, OH. Contributions may be made to the family. My deepest sympathies to you, her family, friends and loved ones. I had gotten to know Eleanor through the BeeKeepers and I am so grateful that I did. I loved her energy and spunk. I looked forward to working with her at the fair, I will miss her dearly. I wasn't aware she had passed until I called Burr's in the afternoon. I am deeply sorry for your loss????

Eleanor was such a good friend, always so helpful and generous! She was so much fun, my kids all loved visiting with her in the honey room at the fair! We will miss her so much! The Love family

We are so blessed to have had Eleanor for a neighbor and good friend. She was always so thoughtful and generous, the first neighbor we met when we moved in 32 years ago. We were frequent recipients of homemade food and their garden's bounty, even though we had our own. Our sincere condolences to Eleanor's family. We will miss her but are comforted to know that she is with our Lord and that we will see her again.

Eleanor was always there with a smile, willing to share her knowledge of beekeeping and a great competitor at the Great Geauga County Fair. It won't be the same without you this year Eleanor. We miss you so much already.

Our entire family will sorely miss our Sunday nights with Eleanor. She made us laugh, brought us delicious home made baked goods, kept our cabinets stocked with honey and was a wonderful friend and neighbor to our Grandma. Our deepest condolences to Eleanor's family.

Eleanor was a great friend to all, a beekeeper and founding member of the Geauga County Beekeepers. We will miss her greatly.
