ELAINE B. MALENSEK (nee: URBANOWICZ)
Age 83 of Troy Twp., joined her ancestors, April 27, 2018 surrounded by love in Hiram where she was being cared for. Born June 10, 1934 in Novelty, the daughter of Steve and Sarah (nee: Dyke) Urbanowicz, she married Marty Malensek in 1953 at St. Edward’s Church in Parkman Twp.
Her greatest joy was caring for her family and helping others. She was an amazing baker and needle woman. She loved working in her garden and preserving all its bounty from canning to jam making. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying her Cleveland teams, and following her favorite Polka bands.
She is survived by her children Vicki Kayatta of VA, Steve (Pip) Malensek of Burton, Terry (Mary Kay) Malensek of Hudson and Craig (Debbie Deangelis) Malensek of Troy Twp., 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister, Margie Malensek of Troy Twp. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marty.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on St. Rt. 44/ 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM, St. Edwards Catholic Church, 16150 Center St., Parkman. The family suggests donations to JDRF of North Eastern Ohio: www.jdrf.org.
