Dutch Matthias Cole
Age 3, died August 19 at the Cleveland Clinic after a valiant fight against a rare form of cancer. Born July 1, 2014 at UH Geauga Medical Center, to Samuel and Lynn (nee: Talty) Cole, he lived on the family homestead. Dutch was very adventurous, loved to be in the wild, always made people smile and was a sweet, caring and independent child. Friends and family fondly called him “Wild Man”. He loved being at the fire station and riding on the fire trucks. The Hambden Fire Fighters said he was the best nozzleman on the department. Dutch really liked playing and being wild with his siblings on the farm.
He is survived by his parents, siblings Katie, Collin, Charlotte and Fiona; grandparents “Ga” Cindy Talty and Polly Cole; aunts and uncles, Tom (Joyce) Cole, Dan (Jeannette) Cole, Nick (Denica) Talty, Kevin (Stephanie) Talty and Danny (Kristin Gabriel) Talty and cousins Max, Madison, Nathan, Ella, Tommy, Andrew and Connor. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronan Cole and his grandfather’s Greg Talty and Thomas Cole.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 24 from 11:00 to 1:00 at Morningstar Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Chardon. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 PM, followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Twp. The Burr Funeral Home, Chardon is handling the arrangements. A fund is being set up for the family.
