Doris Holt age 88 of Hambden Twp. passed away Jan. 23, 2017 at David Simpson Hospice House in Euclid. Born May 17, 1928 in Twilight, PA to Roy and Rose (nee: Vissetti) Alton; she had been a longtime area resident. Along with her husband Warren, Doris was very active at the Hambden Twp. Vol. Fire Department. She is survived by her children Harry (Hope) Holt of Hambden Twp; Oleta (Bruce) Butcher of Geneva and Warren Holt Jr of Hambden Twp; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Glen Alton of PA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Warren Holt Sr; brothers Roy, Jack and Dale Alton. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South ST. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon, OH. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Hambden Twp. Cemetery. The Family suggest donations in her name to the Chardon VFW Post 6519, 752 Water Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Arrangements by the Burr Funeral Home of Chardon. Oleta and family- My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I deeply regret that I won't be able to attend the funeral. Aunt Doris was truly a gem- as honest as they come, energetic, pleasant, quick witted, and without vice. I always looked forward to our conversations and her sense of humor, which she shared with my grandfather Roy. Such a great sister she was to him. She was loved and will be missed by many!

My condolences to the Holt family. May you find comfort in the Lord as he sees you through these difficult days that lay ahead.

Oleta and family - sending my condolences on the loss of your mom.

She was always so sweet to me growing up and would come visit me at Chesterland when I worked there as an adult. We would sit and catch up on things. She was one of a kind and I know she's happy now with her husband who she loved dearly.

Someone so special can never be forgotten.

So sorry to hear Aunt Doris is gone, she was always one of my favorite aunts. She was a fine lady and sweet person she will be missed.
