Donald L. Bartlett, Age 91, of Chardon, died October 16, 2017 at Maple View Country Villa. Born August 11, 1926 in Harleton, MT, to Earl and Rosa (nee: Stone) Bartlett, he was a longtime resident of Chesterland and Chardon. Mr. Bartlett retired from the US Navy after 22 years of dedicated service. He served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He served as the Chief of the first commissioned Nuclear Submarine where he spent 6 months deployed. He also taught at the Nuclear Power School for the US Navy. After his retirement, he went to work for Conrail, where he oversaw the Oil Labs, for another 25 years. He enjoyed playing golf, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his daughters Donna (Rob) Bartlett-Goldstein of Boston, MA and Linda (Chuck) Skufca of Chardon, grandchildren Tim, Megan, Kate and Devon and great granddaughter, Morighann. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, June in 2011, his parents and his brother Bob Bartlett.
