Colletta A. (Conway) Lang, 97, of Munson Township passed away Oct. 17, 2011, at The Liberty at Heather Hill in Munson Township.Born Oct. 18, 1913, in Cleveland, Mrs. Lang had lived in Lakewood before moving to Munson Township eight years ago.Mrs. Lang was a homemaker, focusing on her home and family.Colletta Ann Conway married E. Russell Lang April 22, 1939, in Lakewood. He preceded her in death in 1998. Colletta loved to celebrate life with her dear family and friends. She was very committed to her faith, and devoted to the Rosary and her Irish heritage.While living in Lakewood, Mrs. Lang was a 25-year volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was active with the Lakewood Senior Center and was a founding member of the Lakewood Office on Aging. She was a former member of the Board at Lakewood Hospital and spent many years volunteering there. She was an active member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Lakewood and served as a Eucharistic Minister giving communion to the homebound parishioners. Colletta was involved in the Ladies Guild at the church. She had been active in Grandparent tutoring for the Lakewood Schools. Colletta was currently an active member of St. Helen Catholic Church and very involved with the Students at St. Helen’s Catholic School.Survivors are her daughter, Colletta (Rev. Mr. Larry) Somrack of Newbury Township; son, John (Kathy) Lang of Westlake; grandchildren, SSgt. Michael (Brandy) Lang of Mantua, Brian (Sarah) Lang of Alexandria, V., Melissa Somrack (Nick Gorris) of Burton, Elizabeth Cornish of Olympia, Wash., Andrew (Barb) Somrack of Mayfield Heights, David, Daniel and Thomas Somrack of Newbury; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Jacob and Grace Lang, Henry and William Lang, Stuart and Ella Colletta Cornish.She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Russell Lang; sons, Eugene and James Lang; four sisters; and six brothers.Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Church of St. Helen, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury. The Rev. Jay McPhillips of the church will officiate.Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street, (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, where a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brookpark.Contributions are suggested to St. Helen School Scholarship Fund, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury, OH 44065.
